within the penumbra.
I know we see the same moon,
and I know the stars blanket us equally.
Sharing ourselves with the heavens,
no distance or quantity of miles can align
to shear us apart.
And through the eclipses and the
meteor showers and syzygies,
we'll be as close to each other
as a hundredth of a degree,
an insignificant magnitude,
a petty, weightless number
that trembles in the shadow
of our astronomy.
